Steve Haberstroh

Steve works closely with clients and their families to develop and implement strategies toward their wealth management objectives. Steve is also responsible for new business, client relationships, and serves on CastleKeep’s Investment and Portfolio Review Committees. He holds the Uniform Combined State Law Examination (Series 66).

Steve was first introduced to financial markets as an intern at CastleKeep while attending Wake Forest University. Upon graduation, he formally began his professional career in 2004 as a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts. At Ameriprise, Steve finished in the top 1% of First Year Advisors with the company. While continuing to serve his clients, Steve was asked to enter Ameriprise’s Leadership Training Program as an Advisor Coach, eventually ranking within the top 10 Advisor Coaches at Ameriprise.

Steve always planned to return to the family business, so after four years of building a successful financial planning practice and helping train advisors to reach their career goals, he left Ameriprise to join CastleKeep as Vice President in 2008. He was eventually promoted to Managing Director and later became Partner in 2017.

Steve is fluent in Brazilian Portuguese and graduated from Wake Forest University in 2004 on the Dean’s List with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Spanish Studies.

Steve and his wife Erin currently reside in New Canaan, Connecticut with their sons, Mac and Walker, and their golden retriever, Moose. They are members of the Nantucket Yacht Club and the Country Club of New Canaan where Steve previously served as Chairperson of Membership Committee and a member of the Board of Governors. He serves on the Parks and Recreation Commission for the town of New Canaan. Since his mother’s diagnosis in 2017, Steve has become passionate about finding cures and treatments for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He previously served as both as Co-Chair of the Community Outreach Committee and member of the Patient Advisory Council for non-profit, I AM ALS (http://www.iamals.org).

When not in the office, Steve can be found on the golf course or out on the water fishing.
